I would like to talk how we take care of our overall health. I am a firm believer that our health depends on more then eating right and staying in physical shape. Like every person in this world, I have had a lot of stress. Of course there is certain stress that is harder to handle than others. When my nephew of 15 was killed in a car accident, I became very depressed. I would say overly depressed. My depression was not being handled well (such a stupid way we describe to when people are having problems). I started to see a psychologist, of course the main help is being able to talk to a person and getting information that might help me. The number one Help for me, he worked with me using meditation. Since then I have worked with other doctors.

Meditation

Meditation has become a go to place when I need help. I especially need it when things are really going sideways. If I keep at it, things don’t go sideways! I do meditation first thing in the morning, it is also my time with God. Our pastor starts prayers many time this way, so I start my the same: I am here, God is here, I repeat over and over, then I start to him. I tell him everything while I am holding my cross and angel in my palms. I stay there for as long as I think I need to be with him. Then I will sit comfortably breathing into my nose out of my mouth. I finally will become so relaxed, I work on emptying my mind with chatter. It took a long time to be able to do it.

My body becomes very relaxed, but at the same time your body is accepting positive energy. I would like you to try the breathing and relaxing for awhile and see how you feel.

Meditation saved me

A few years back I had a 2nd stroke. It wasn’t nice, but I came out fine. I was paralyzed on the 2nd side. I don’t know how long, I couldn’t remember it. My husband told me about it after I got out of the hospital. Another thing it caused was seizures. They are pretty awful to have, of course can’t drive if you have problems with seizures. If you have one, you have to be seizure free for 6 months to drive. It drove me nuts that I did not have any independence and during this time my husband got ill (a different story).

Seizure Free

After 2 years I was getting close to seizure free time (almost got there before), but I decided there was NO WAY I was ever going to have a seizure again.

My Plan

Here goes: if I thought I was starting to get one, I would go into meditation mode. I really had this imbedded into my head. The time came, I was at home and was by myself, could feel it happening, it’s weird like your mind goes someplace and starts to warning you that something is happening. I immediately started meditation breathing and kept doing it for a very long time, then finally laid back and tried clearing out my mind. The Seizure never happened and I am sure I was going to have one.

Morning talk with God

I want to share, if I talk to God every morning my life gets better. He listens to me then or maybe he’s reminding me I’m supposed to be with him more often. Maybe he misses me!

Another way to be Healthy and Relax

There is certainly is another way to relax when you are stressed and it is also healthy. Get into your relaxing clothes, put your feet up and have a nice glass of wine.
